The annual children's program at our church is something I dread every year. If you are wondering why, check out this blog post. (For those non-Mormons, this is when we trust our children to give a short quick talk in front of the congregation and sing songs they have learned all year).
So this year really wasn't much different. Dylan was extremely hyper through all the practices.
Saturday morning we drilled him over and over again to NOT get up and say "Ha, ha, ha" in the microphone. We told him if he did say "hahaha" instead of his talk that daddy would not take him to the indoor pool. We must have repeated this instruction at least 100 times.
We go to practice and Dylan is up first. He gets up and I'm holding my breathe. There is no "Ha ha ha!" But, instead we hear "Wolf, Wolf, Wolf, Wolf," and loud laughter from the rest of the kids.
Oh, smart! We never told him he couldn't say ANY jokes. We only said no "ha, ha ha!" Now we know that we have to get specific and say NO jokes of any kind. Well he still got to go swimming and his parents learned to be more specific in their warnings. Outsmarted again!
